I went to Taizé from Spain, an enjoyable contrast to the environment of exams and stress that can plague the last few weeks of exam term. People were open with each other, not afraid to talk about their questions and vulnerabilities, I think I could learn a lot from that and it’s not something I see in society at large. It was to my great surprise that some non-religious people at Taizé enjoyed the routine of praying three times a day, but I respected very much their will to explore the faith of those that surrounded them. I hope that Taizé, or those who visit it, can shine a light on values of community, love and respect. I have no doubt that I will be visiting again given the opportunity.
